Church Direction Night Jan 21.

We are having church-wide potlucks January 25, February 8 and February 15. There is a list of the groups in the church lobby. We have tried to put everyone in a potluck group (if you’re not in a potluck group talk to Eric Isaac or Sid Dueck). If you can’t be at your scheduled Sunday, feel free to go another Sunday.

Anyone interested in attending a Bible Study in Arborg, please sign up in the lobby or contact Tara 376 3628

Check out in the library this week…
When God Sees Your Tears by Cindi McMenamin. In times of heartache, where can you find hope? You’ve poured out your questions to God, but when the answers don’t come, you wonder if He is listening. You’ll receive comfort as you follow the life of Hannah, a woman in the Bible who knew deep pain and grief. Through her story, and the stories of many women today, you will gain: assurance that nothing in your life took God by surprise, confidence that God hears you and has a plan for your life, peace that your tears are not for nothing, hope that God can turn your longings – and your losses – into a legacy. Be assured your broken heart is precious to God and He cares about your struggles.

Nowhere to Turn by Lynnette Eason. The day Danielle Harding takes her 11-year-old son, Simon, and flees from her abusive husband, is the same day Kurt Harding dies. A relieved Dani believes she and her son are finally safe–but in reality, the danger has just begun. When Kurt was alive, he took something important to a mysterious person. That person wants the item back and believes Dani now has it. As she and her son run for their lives, they have nowhere to turn, until she hires Adam Buchanan of Operation Refuge and goes into hiding. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to hide for long

Teen: Surviving Cultures by Edward Moody. Young people today are faced with many challenges that attempt to lure them away from the truth of Scripture and their foundation of faith. Dr. Moody shares strong advice on the need to be prepared and make wise decisions to navigate the culture of today. He uses the example of Daniel and how he and his companions faced unbelievable pressure to com-promise their faith living in a corrupt culture. They not only survived but thrived and had a real impact on the world around them. Young people today can do the same.
