On Sunday, March 16, at 6:00 we are having a simple meal. For this meal we will have only rice. The purpose of this is to support those who are hungry. After the meal Jim Cornelius from Canadian Foodgrains Bank will share about their work and the issue of world hunger. It should be an informative time for people of all ages! If you plan on attending please RSVP by March 12th to Jason Reimer (Jason.firstname.lastname@example.org) or Eric Isaac (email@example.com) or leave a message at the church (364-2356) so we know how much food to make. Thanks!
Baptism Discipleship classes will be starting in the next couple weeks. If you are interested in baptism or just want to grow deeper in your faith, you can ask either Eric or Donny for more information.
“Youth Issues: Helping Students Who Are Hurting” weekend course with Marv Penner, February 27- March 1 at Steinbach Bible College. To register for credit or audit, visit SBCollege.ca/register. (Not able to attend the whole weekend? Thursday evening’s class is also a free Refresh seminar, open to the public. No registration for the free seminar is needed.)
The Bridge Drop In center could use some more volunteers. We are working on hiring a director and hope to have someone in place in 6 weeks, but right now, the Bridge is open 2 nights a week and run by volunteers. We are especially looking for a female volunteer for Thursday nights. Another serving opportunity would be to come on as a board member – we would love to see one more person from this church serve on the board. If you are interested either in volunteering or serving on the board, please contact Rosanna Loewen – Phone – 378-5599. Text – 204-641-1787 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Barefoot Church: Serving the Least in a Consumer Culture by Brandon Hatmaker. People are hungry to make a difference, yet most don’t know where to start. In fact, ‘serving the least’ is often one of the most neglected mandates of Jesus. Hatmaker proves to readers that serving the least is not a trendy act of benevolence but a lifestyle of authentic community and spiritual transformation. ‘My hope is that God would open our eyes more and more to the needs of our community. And that we would see it as the church’s responsibility to lead the charge.’
The Vow by Kim Carpenter. Two months after Kim and Kricketts marriage, a devastating car wreck left Krickitt with a massive head injury and in a coma. When she finally awoke, she had no idea who Kim was. With no recollection of their relationship and while Krickitt experienced personality changes, Kim realized the woman he had married essentially died in the accident. And yet through the common faith in Christ, they fell in love again.
Fifteen Minutes by Karen Kingsbury. Zack Dylan made a promise to God and his college sweetheart as he left home to compete on a popular reality tv show that he won’t change. Just as America is falling in love with Zack, just as he’s on the verge of winning it all, his choices lead him to the brink of personal disaster. Will Zack find his way, or will fame cause him to lose the life he once loved?
