Truth Stained Lies by Terri Blackstock. Cathy Cramer writes about local homicides but doesn’t always see the full truth and ends up judging people before it goes to court. One day she finds a threatening note saying that she will face the same kind of judgment but dismisses it until her brother is caught in a murder investigation. She realizes that it isn’t her place to judge but God’s. But will it be too late to save her brother or her five year old nephew.

Mennonite Disaster Service is grateful for nearly 300 volunteers who have helped in the cleanup of Southern Alberta communities.  We have now closed our clean up base in High River and have moved into the planning phase for a long term project.   Depending on local town decisions, the preliminary forecast is to open a long term rebuilding base in High River in mid fall. We invite prayers for the thousands of people affected by the flood, and for wisdom as we seek to collaborate with local communities in their recovery. We will need many volunteers to show support and solidarity with the people of Alberta.  Donations can be sent to the Winnipeg office 6A-1325 Markham Rd, Winnipeg, MB R3T 4J6

Mennonite Disaster Service    Staten Island, NYC:  Thanks to the incredible efforts of MDS Ontario folks, rebuilding on Staten Island is moving along very well.  We are grateful that 262 Canadian volunteers have served in Staten Island since the project opened in March. Fully 75% of these are first-time volunteers!  Staten Island will continue running all summer and fall.  We are full in August but welcome more volunteers for the rest of the fall.  Thanks for helping our US neighbours.  Call 1-866-261-1274 to volunteer or donate.

High Level Christian Fellowship, Alberta has a letter on the bulletin board in the foyer about their building project.  Check it out to see what they are doing in the town of High Level.
