Sunday, June 9, 7:00 p.m. – Baptism Service

As many of you know we are having baptism classes at this time. We are again looking for mentors who would be willing to walk alongside them for a year or so after they are baptized. We would love to find mature mentors who enjoy and are willing to mentor to let Eric or Donovan know. We would love to have enough volunteers for each of the youth being baptized.

The May 2013 Christian Week Magazine is available for pick up in the foyer. Please help yourself to a copy and gladly take another one to pass along to a friend!

Remember in your prayers: Eagle Bay Bible Camp. Let’s pray that staffing needs will be met and that God will be working in the hearts of those that will be staff.

Pray for the 100’s of EMC students and leaders who are going to Abundant Springs from May 17-20. Pray that they would root their faith deeper into the person of Jesus Christ and experience freedom and joy in their walk with the Lord!

Mennonite Disaster Service calls for volunteers in a local Winnipeg project. MDS is partnering with Mennonite Church Manitoba in rebuilding a small apartment at 490 Maryland St. This apartment of 10 suites will provide affordable housing in the city. We are looking for volunteers, beginning Monday, May 13, who can serve for a day, two days or a week to assist with hanging drywall. Please call MDS at 866-261-1274 for more information or to register.

Looking for the opportunity to make a difference this summer? Need to make money to go back to school but still want to experience the adventure of a lifetime? Gem Lake Wilderness Camp, a ministry of Inner City Youth Alive, is looking for committed, passionate Christian leaders to work as counsellors and lifeguards this summer. Openings for July-Aug. are available. Contact Gord at gord@icya.ca or call 582-8779 ext. 212 for more details.

If you are interested in the job of cutting the grass at church and cemetery talk to Robert, Phil or Rick.

Remember Us: Letters from Stalin’s Gulag by Ruth Derksen Siemens. Remember us as we remember you – a plea from a father for his family imprisoned in Stalin’s Gulag. Letters written by Russian Mennonites who lived during Stalin’s regime were smuggled out to the west and stored in a Campbell’s Soup box.

May 14- Meet at Church

May 17-20- Abundant Springs

May 28- Lesson Night

Abundant Springs is next Weekend

– We still lack transportation to go there and it is not easy finding rides. So if by some chance your vehicle could make the journey for us we would deeply appreciate it.

– We also are being asked to contribute to the night snack and so they are asking each youth group to bring 5 dozen cookies (5 ice cream pails worth)

– Also if you have an air mattress that your child could bring along that would be helpful. About half of the students will sleep on the floor.

– Final payments are due Tuesday! Talk to Donny if you are not sure how much you owe.
